Article number two! Now that I whet your appetite for trailers here come some more isolated stories as well as Tom Cruise and Channing Tatum!
Less to say at the beginning of this one but Good News! I have some UK release updates of old posts for you:
- It Comes at Night arrives in UK Cinemas 7th July
- E1 picked up Detroit and it will be released 25th August
If you missed the last “Trailers…” there’s a link here but otherwise, lets get into it!
Each time I lay out the most intriguing, necessary or just plain awful trailers you may not have noticed yet – from wannabe blockbusters to budding indies, documentary to drama, the western nations to the east I will try and capture a quick, unranked, snapshot of what you need to see!
YAASSSSSS i’m so hyped for this film. It’s everything I want right now full of talent, a Nascar heist, comedy in real setting, accents on point (other than maybe Seth McFarlane…which is odd, right?) and you know stepping into a Soderbergh film there’s going to be levels that you aren’t expecting. I can’t wait! When do we get it? Very soon! 28th June
Dope stuff in this trailer: the quiet, the tension, the pacing are all top notch. I love Elizabeth Olsen in this role, she seems powerful and that’s something she does well, and Jeremy Renner keeps impressing as the best supporting actor for anything (just don’t let him lead by himself). When do we get it? 8th September…is something coming to split all that cash with It??
The Mountain Between Us
This is cute, I feel like this was always on an uphill battle with me (pardon the pun), because this isn’t traditionally my sort of movie, but the premise takes something we have seen before and adds lost in the mountains to it. One thing, I really wish they hadn’t shown us the bit with Kate Winslet in the end…it kinda ruins the gasp moment in the cinema. When do we get it? 6th October
Tom Cruise is trying different stuff, and whether it works or not I like it! Look this trailer is good, if that’s meant to be Pablo Escobar he looks awful, the story seems interesting, I don’t think Sarah Wright can act, Jayma Mays can – there’s a few pros and cons. Let’s see how good the second trailer is, but it’s piqued my interest. When do we get it? 25th August
Here’s one for the kids! This premise is weird, is the bull trying to prove he’s docile or just get home? And John Cena…really? Saying all that I like the animation style, I think Blue Sky has a decent reputation (Rio, Peanuts, Ice Age) so it could find its market, its competition will be interesting. When do we get it? 22nd December
Victoria and Abdul
So I’m going to start with I love Judi Dench. This movie is about Queen Victoria striking up an unlikely friendship with a young Indian clerk named Abdul and I am on board. Judi Dench is the Grandmaster of Sass and that alone is enough to make me watch this film…I think I’ll take my mum! When do we get it? 15th September
So that’s my list!
Do you think I missed anything out?
Did I neglect any movies?
